Benicio Del Toro & his dubbing voice Torsten Michaelis

Benicio Monserrate Rafael Del Toro Sanchez grew up in Puerto Rico and later moved to Pennsylvania, where he studied at the University of California.

 

Away from the screen, Benicio del Toro is also committed to social and political issues, in particular the rights of indigenous peoples in Latin America.

 

His breakthrough came in the 1990s with films such as "The Usual Suspects" and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", which earned him recognition and praise from critics. 

 

An important film in del Toro's career is "21 Grams" from 2003, in which he starred alongside Sean Penn and Naomi Watts. In this drama, del Toro played a man struggling with feelings of guilt after a tragic accident and once again showed off his acting skills.

 

In 2015, he took on the role of hitman Alejandro in "Sicario", a thriller about the drug war on the border between the USA and Mexico. His dark and captivating performance earned him praise from critics and made the film a success.

Del Toro won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the 2001 film "Traffic" and has been nominated for numerous other awards. He has worked with renowned directors such as Steven Soderbergh, Alejandro González Iñárritu and Denis Villeneuve and has earned a reputation as one of the most talented actors of his generation.

 

He has also been nominated for other prestigious awards for his performance in films such as "21 Grams" and "Sicario". Another milestone in his career was winning a Golden Globe Award for his role in the miniseries "Escape at Dannemora".

 

In addition to these awards, Benicio del Toro was also honored with the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival for his performance in the film "Che".
