Mads Dittmann Mikkelsen began his career as a professional dancer and studied at the Århus Theatre School. His passion for the performing arts eventually led him to acting, where he quickly made a name for himself.

Mikkelsen's breakthrough came with his role as “Dr. Hannibal Lecter” in the hit television series “Hannibal” (2013-2015), based on the character of the same name from Thomas Harris' novels.
