Steven "Steve" Vincent Buscemi grew up in an Italian-American family and developed a passion for acting at an early age. After working as a firefighter for several years, he decided to follow his passion and pursue a career in the film industry.
 
In addition to acting, he is also committed to charitable causes and was a volunteer at Ground Zero after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
 
Breakthrough:
Buscemi received his first significant role in the film "Parting Glances" (1986), which earned him positive reviews. This was followed by further appearances in films such as "Miller's Crossing" (1990) and "Barton Fink" (1991), in which he worked with renowned directors Joel and Ethan Coen.
