Juliette Lake Lewis is the daughter of actor Geoffrey Lewis and dancer and actress Glenis Batley. Juliette grew up in a creative environment and showed an early interest in acting. She attended high school in Los Angeles, where she further developed her passion for the performing arts.

 

Lewis is actively involved in various social causes. She is committed to animal welfare and supports organizations such as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). She has also been an advocate for mental health and speaks openly about her own experiences with depression and anxiety. 

 

Juliette Lewis' breakthrough came in 1991 with her role in the film “Cape Fear” directed by Martin Scorsese, where she played alongside Robert De Niro. Her portrayal of the vulnerable teenager Danielle Bowden brought her much acclaim and led to other significant roles in films such as “Natural Born Killers” (1994), where she took on the lead role of Mallory Knox. 

 

In the years that followed, Lewis expanded her repertoire in both film and television. She appeared in various genres, including drama, comedy and thriller. In recent years, she has appeared in the successful series “Wayward Pines” (2015) and “The Conners” (2018). In addition to her acting career, she also pursues a music career; she founded the band Juliette and the Licks, which has released several albums and is known for its energetic rock sound.

She won an Emmy for her role in the mini-series “My Louisiana Sky” (2001). Juliette has been nominated several times for a Golden Globe, including for her performance in “The Other Sister” (1999). And for her role in “Cape Fear” she received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1992.
