Michelle Marie Pfeiffer began her career as a model before turning to acting. She has been married to producer David E. Kelley since 1993. Together they have two biological and one adopted child.
Pfeiffer had her breakthrough in 1983 with her role in "Scarface" alongside Al Pacino. This was followed by other successful films such as "The Witches of Eastwick" (1987) and "Dangerous Loves" (1988), which earned her a reputation as a first-class actress.
In the 1990s, Michelle Pfeiffer expanded her repertoire and played in various genres such as drama, thriller and romance. Particularly noteworthy was her performance in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" (1989), for which she received an Oscar nomination.
